European AI-powered advanced screening

The European Network of AI-Powered Advanced Screening Centers is now launched!

In May 2026, the European Network of AI-powered advanced screening centers was kicked off in its first meeting. The Network brings together over 270 hospitals from across Europe to exchange knowledge on uptake of innovative AI solutions for prevention, early detection and diagnosis in cancer and cardiovascular diseases. The discussions touched upon enablers and barriers to deploying AI in clinical settings, the role of clinical leadership and how EU-level support could accelerate safe and effective adoption. Participants also shared real-world use cases in stroke, melanoma, lung cancer and cardiovascular imaging, and explored topics such as in-house AI development vs. procurement, pre-deployment evaluation, and effective collaboration with industry.

A flagship of the overarching Apply AI Strategy, this Network will, among others, help generate evidence on clinical performance of AI solutions, cost-efficiency, safety and workflow integration, to enable AI adoption at scale across national healthcare systems – including underserved regions.

Further healthcare providing organisations will have the chance to join the Network via a call for expression of interest, opening soon.
