The European Commission about a new open consultation on the draft implementing act detailing the establishment and operation of the European Health Data Space Board.
The EHDS Board is a key part of the governance mechanisms under the EHDS. Activities of the EHDS Board may include:
– written contributions relating to technical specifications and other relevant matters, supporting the access to and exchange of electronic health data, particularly in the form of implementing guides
– written contributions, including in the form of non-binding guidelines, identifying common implementation challenges and proposing coordinated responses or joint road maps for the Member States, as well as EHDS communication strategies
– the facilitation of thematic exchanges on best practices, technological tools and lessons learned in relation to the EHDS implementation and operation
Every two years, the EHDS will adopt a work plan. The EHDS Board will gradually take over from the eHealth Network (originally established under Directive 2011/24/EU), which will cease to exist by 26 March 2031.
The deadline for response is 6 January 2026.
