Carlos Rus president of the Spanish Organisation of Hospitals and Health Services (OEHSS)

The Spanish Organisation of Hospitals and Health Services (OEHSS) has officially proclaimed Carlos Rus as its new president, following a process marked by the unanimous backing of representatives of the health sector – both public and private – and the support of the health services of numerous autonomous communities.

This broad institutional representation reaffirms the commitment of the OEHSS to integrate and represent the plurality of the Spanish healthcare system.

Carlos Rus stressed in a speech that this new period represents a unique opportunity to foster mutual knowledge between the public and private sectors, understanding their respective realities, strengths and challenges, and promoting synergies that benefit the healthcare system as a whole and, above all, the citizens.

The Organización Española de Hospitales y Servicios de Salud (OEHSS) is a Spanish, non-governmental, state-owned, non-profit association. It represents public and private healthcare centers in Spain, including hospitals, clinics and other centers. OEHSS seeks to be a source of knowledge on hospitals and health issues for public and private institutions, developing and maintaining information on the planning and operation of hospital services and health systems.

The OEHSS also acts as a space for the exchange of information, advice and support to its members on issues related to the provision, organization and operation of health services. In addition, the OEHSS has promoted initiatives to transform healthcare, focusing on chronicity, prevention, and putting the patient at the center.
