We had a busy time in Lisbon on 23-24 June!
Our Portuguese and Spanish member association organized the third edition of their Iberic Summit (Cumbre Iberica) on 23 June, with the aim for Portugal & Spain to join forces to find common solutions to the current health challenges.
During the summit we had the honor to have Mr João Neves, Secretary of State for Economy in Portugal as a keynote speaker.
Our president, Dr Garassus, was invited to give the European perspective to the summit, reflecting on the role of Europe in healthcare and of EU private hospitals in challenging times.
On 24 June UEHP organized its summer Council meeting and extraordinary General Assembly. The latter was held in order to formally welcome on board a new associated member: Fondazione Sanità Futura in Milan.
Very busy agenda for the day and still a festive atmosphere from the European Private Hospitals Awards ceremony held the night before.
During the Council meeting we had the chance to hear from Dr Luis Goes Pinheiro, President of Shared Services of the Portuguese Health Ministry, on “Digital transition and Health transformation projects”.
Our next Council meeting will be held in Brussels in October.
