UEHP at Health Procurement Summit 2022

Last 20-21 September, Health Proc Europe and the European Health Public Procurement Alliance organized the 1st edition of the Pan-European Hospital & Healthcare Procurement Summit in Brussels.

The goal of the summit was to highlight the most pressing problems that procurement professionals currently face:

  1. Transparency  – the central success factor for all product decisions in procurement projects. This is not only about prices, but also about how procurement managers communicate at eye level with medical users and the industry.
How this transparency can be achieved at national and European level is the cornerstone of the congress.
  2. Digitalization – the entire procurement world beyond healthcare is going digital – but hospitals are still 10 years behind the curve. Millions in efficiency reserves can be leveraged if efficient digital tools are used
  3. Sustainability – how to reach net zero. What does the implementation of the EU’s ‘Fit for 55’ program mean in terms of legislation for future tenders that favor products with a lower CO2 footprint?

Our President, Dr Paul GARASSUS, was invited to speak at the Summit, joining the panel on the European perspective on sustainability, digitalisation, governance & leadership in healthcare procurements.

He brought the private hospitals’ voice to the debate discussing about the most actual challenges our sector is facing and how to overcome them.

The 2-days summit was the occasion to hear from prestigious keynote speakers; to meet solution providers from the industry and startups lead solution-oriented procurers using new, innovative solutions better and more profitably in the B2B exhibition; attend regional focus sessions covering the D-A-CH region (Germany, Austria Switzerland), the Nordics, UK & Ireland, France, BeNeLux, Iberia and Italy; grow the network with like-minded professionals.

We look forward to the second edition!
