UEHP at IHF World Congress

The 47th World Congress of the International Hospital Federation was held in Rio de Janeiro (Brazil) on 10-12 September, co-hosted by the Brazilian Hospital Federation (Federação Brasileira de Hospitais – FBH).

Under the theme “Global learning, local action”, the congress brought together international hospital leaders and healthcare delivery executives from all over the world, with a focus on advancing leadership in the sector to be fit for the future.

The World Hospital Congress is a unique global forum connecting leaders and decision-makers of hospitals, health services, and healthcare organizations, to share knowledge and good practices in leadership, management, and service delivery, to exchange new ideas and innovations and to network with other senior executives from across the international healthcare community.

Our Secretary General, Ms Giannico (picture below), attended on behalf of the European Union of Private Hospitals (UEHP). It was a challenging and engaging week reflecting on the challenges faced by the healthcare and hospital sectors around the globe. In particular, she had the chance to facilitate a round table discussion on the impact of the generation gap in recruiting and retaining health workforce, in the framework of the IHF partners workshop on addressing solutions to global workforce challenges.

Our Portuguese members attended as well, with a delegation of the Associação Portuguesa de Hospitalização Privada (APHP) led by its President, Mr Gaspar (see first picture above). APHP was able to co-organise working sessions in Portuguese together with FBH on the provision of healthcare in Portuguese speaking countries.

Thanks IHF for having us this year again and see you in Geneva in 2025!
