On 3-7 December, UEHP attended the Healthcare Expo in Taiwan with a delegation of four representatives: our President, Mr Oscar Gaspar, our Secretary General, Ms Ilaria Giannico, and two of our Board members, Mr Stefan Günther (also UEHP treasurer) and Ms Eleni Androni. The congress represented and opportunity to strengthen international dialogue on innovation, hospital management, and the future of healthcare collaboration.

Mr Gaspar delivered a keynote address on the role of private hospitals in the European Union highlighting their contribution to accessibility, efficiency, and patient-centered care, as well as their importance in building resilient health systems.
He was also a panelist during the session “Asia-Pacific Forum on Healthcare Quality”, where he brought a European perspective to the global conversation on healthcare transformation, highlighting crucial themes such as:
- AI implementation in healthcare – opportunities, risks, and the importance of responsible deployment
- Ethics as a cornerstone of digital innovation
- The upcoming European Health Data Space (EHDS) and how interoperable data can drive better outcomes
- Strengthening collaboration between EU and Asia-Pacific stakeholders for high-quality, patient-centred care

We were proud and honoured to contribute to global dialogue and shape the future of health. This engagement marked another step forward in fostering international cooperation, knowledge exchange, and shared progress in healthcare quality and digital health.
