Óscar Gaspar re-elected President of the Portuguese Association of Private Hospitals

This re-election comes at a time when the Portuguese Association of Private Hospitals (APHP) is preparing for the 2nd edition of the European Private Hospital Awards (EPHA), which will take place on May 25, in Lisbon.

Portuguese private hospitals unanimously re-elected today, May 4th,  in their General Assembly, the new governing bodies of the Portuguese Association of Private Hospitals (APHP) for the three-year term 2023-2026.

The economist, and former Secretary of State for Health, Óscar Gaspar, was unanimously re-elected as president of the Board, a position he has held since 2016.

“It is an honor to be elected for a third term in a time when APHP is co-organizing events that make Portugal the main stage for the debate on global health in 2023,” says Oscar Gaspar who is also the vice-president of the executive committee of the Confederation of Portuguese Business (CIP). “We will therefore keep working so that private hospitals continue to deserve the growing trust of citizens and have the conditions to strengthen both their investment and their focus on placing the patient at the center of their decisions,” he adds.
