Restarting the activity after the lockdown
MAY 2020 – In Austria the resumption of activity is ongoing and private clinics choose different strategies to renew with a normal operating mode. Private clinics have been affected by the crisis in very different ways. Some establishments have been involved in the national emergency plan and have played a key role in it, like the PemiQaMed hospitals in Vienna.

JANUARY 2018. Targeted hacker attacks on critical infrastructure – including medical devices in hospitals – are causing IT experts more and more concern.
VPKA Innovation prize 2019 – Vienna Private Clinic wins “Visionen Award”
OCTOBER 2019. On 9 October the Visions Award of the Austrian Association of Private Hospitals (VPKA) was presented for the third time. Within the framework of the annual VPKA Congress, outstanding forward-looking projects in private clinics are honored. This year’s winner is Vienna Private Clinic (Wiener Privatklinik), which was the first clinic in Austria to adapt the innovative concept of “One Minute Training” and has since successfully implemented it. The PremiQaMed private clinics came second with videos on patient safety. 3rd place also went to Wiener Privatklinik, which developed its own training concept for nursing interns.
Klinikum Bad Gleichenberg – Report of experiences from the 2019 HOPE-exchange program
SEPTEMBER 2019. The exchange program for employees in hospitals and healthcare facilities HOPE is an activity offered by the European Hospital and Healthcare Federation. Every year, a four-week training period in a guest hospital allows the participants to get to know another healthcare system, either in the EU, or in another European state. From May 6 to June 4 2019, Gabriele Koch, the quality management representative at the Klinikum Bad Gleichenberg, took part in the exchange program.
International Nurses Day 2019 – 7,000 employees from Austrian private hospitals rewarded
JUNE 2019. This is today a tradition, the Austrian Association of Private Hospitals (Verband der Privatkrankenanstalten Österreichs ) expressed its warmest gratitude to the care employees of its hospital members on the occasion of the International Nurses Day 2019, on Mai 12. More than 7,000 employees received a little attention, a fragrant Swiss stone pine bag.
Award Innovation Prize 2018
OCTOBER 2018. Three outstanding innovations by private clinics have been rewarded by the Austrian Private Hospitals Federation in the frame of its second Congress in October.

JULY 2018. The PremiQaMed Group, created in 1991, ranks among Austria’s top private hospitals. Its five acute care clinics in Vienna, Salzburg, Styria, welcomed in 2017 more than 44.600 inpatient-cases from home and abroad, 4.218 births and 195.000 hospital days.
