Yesterday, 19 April, the European Parliament adopted an important non-binding resolution on vaccine hesitancy and the drop of vaccination rates in Europe, during the plenary session in Strasbourg.
Warning public confidence in vaccination is a major challenge that is already affecting health, Parliament said on Thursday.

UEHP retains its seat on the E-Health Group
The UEHP has retained its right of membership of the E-Health Stakeholders Group of the European Commission created in 2012. Group membership has been renewed this year, 2016 and only 30 European associations have received the right to participate.

Ursula von der Leyen new President of the European Commission – Focus on healthcare
On July, 16 the European Parliament plenary in Strasbourg elected Mrs Ursula von der Leyen as new President of the European Commission. She will start her work from 1 November 2019 for a period of five years.

The European Commission publishes the “Study on cross-border healthcare: Empowering NCPs to help patients exercise their rights”
On 20 July, the European Commission published an evaluative study on the implementation of the EU Directive 2011/24 on patients’ rights in cross-borders healthcare. The report, due by October 2018, was published well ahead the deadline, with the title “Study on cross-border healthcare: Empowering NCPs to help patients exercise their rights”.
